In order to celebrate its two year Comenius partnership the Balfron High 6th year Comenius students organised fundraising activities last week to purchase three trees that were planted on Europe Day. Balfron High’s partner schools in Germany, France, Italy, Poland and Belgium did the same with their students on that day. The students hope that the school’s newly forged European links will grow and become strong like their trees. Three trees were planted to represent each of the three houses in the school; a hawthorn for Campsie House, a crab apple for Endrick House and a Rowan for Lomond House. Pupils from each 1st, 2nd and 3rd year class were selected to assist in the planting of the trees.
