Within the framework of the day of Europe, on May 9th, we suggest you planting a tree to associate so the European ideal with the sustainable development project.
Since the dawn of time, the tree has been bearing symbols for humanity. For instance, power and longevity for oaks, peace for olive trees.
For each tree, men have associated values , but for all, it is life. We say “the tree of life” to indicate that it is a link between the earth and the sky.
The tradition of the tree of May is a rite of fertility linked to the return of the foliage. Once common throughout Western Europe, this rite takes its meaning from the traditional cycle in May, month of festivities in honor of vegetation, flowers, springs and water.
On May 9, we celebrate Europe, in
which the constituent peoples based
a promise of peace, prosperity and brotherhood, after so many bloody conflicts throughout centuries.
In this sense, the planting of a tree by the younger generations of Europeans, has a symbolic significance, as it is an act of hope in a common future.
Living together means sharing the same gestures and the same goals, this is the reason why we wanted to symbolize our hope for the European ideal by sharing with others of the same continent this event entitled "Trees for Europe."
